Oils, they are a medium I thought I hated. They are toxic and lets face it, a pain to clean up. But lately I have found that I like to use them sometimes. I zone out in the fine details and making layer after layer. They take a long while to dry, so for someone used to water colors the wait is agonizing, but well worth it. Maybe some of this oil practice will find its way into my mainstream illustration, or better yet, I will fall in love with it and start making high detail sci-fi and fantasy work.
